Dear CSR Members:
I want to inform you of a recent data breach affecting several CalPERS health plans.
In December, I received notice that Conduent was the victim of a cyber-incident affecting a limited portion of its network. Conduent is a company that provides business process services to various health plans. The breach impacted about 1,100 CalPERS members, according to CalPERS.
“Several plans were impacted, including Anthem, Blue Shield, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, and Western Health Advantage,” CalPERS said. “Given the size of impact relative to our 1.5 million health members, we are not planning to put anything on the website. Also, our call center would be unable to provide any additional information.”
While initial reports suggested a limited impact, these findings remain preliminary. Out of an abundance of caution, CSR is sharing this information in an effort to assist to any impacted members.
If you believe the data breach affected you or have questions about the incident, please call Conduent at
(877) 332-1658. This dedicated line is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., ET.
You can also send your inquiry in writing to:

As a precaution against identity theft, you may consider placing a fraud alert on your credit file. A fraud alert requires creditors to contact you before opening a new account or changing an existing account. It also lets your creditors know to watch for unusual or suspicious activity.
To place a fraud alert, call any of the three major credit reporting agencies: Equifax, Experian or TransUnion.
An initial fraud alert remains effective for 90 days free of charge. You can renew the fraud alert at the expiration date. When one credit agency confirms your fraud alert, it notifies the others to do the same.
If you have additional concerns or are unable to resolve questions from Conduent customer service, please contact CSR at CSRInfo@calretirees.org, (888) 808-7197, or (916) 326-4292.
Sincerely,
