CSR members: Sign up for free credit monitoring today

This is a reminder that Sept. 30 is the final day for retirees to register for the free credit monitoring CalPERS is offering through Experian. Personal activation codes will expire after this date. If a member has lost or misplaced their code it can be found in their secure myCalPERS account.  If they do not have an account, they can obtain their code by calling the CalPERS contact center at 888 CalPERS (or 888-225-7377)

Below is an update on the CalPERS PBI security breach as of Friday, Sept. 22:

1. Experian has enrolled approximately 188,400 CalPERS members in credit monitoring, approximately 24% of all members impacted. 
2. The average wait time is approximately 7 mins.
3. CalPERS members will see education materials and consumer protection tips in the October issue of PERSpective in coordination with CyberSecurity Awareness month.
