PBI Security Breach Update

Below is an update on the PBI security breach at CalPERS:

  • Experian has enrolled approximately 133,600 CalPERS members in credit monitoring. This represents approximately 17% of all members impacted. 
  • Experian has received more than 37,000 calls. The average wait time continues to be about two minutes.
  • CalPERS’ Contact Center has received more than 4,400 calls and we have responded to more than 2,650 emails to the dedicated incident email box at PBIquestions@calpers.ca.gov.
  • CalPERS continues to update the Frequently Asked Questions on its website based on feedback from members and stakeholders.
