Want to Run for CSR District Director? Check Your Eligibility and Send this Required Form

Posted 1 years 164 days ago ago by Mark DeVaughn

Are you interested in holding an elected leadership role for California State Retirees? If so, three (3) seats are up for election on the CSR Board of Directors.

New three-year terms for Board members in Districts A, B, and C will begin at the January 2023 CSR Board of Directors meeting. Any member in good standing interested in running for a District Director seat must file a Candidate Consent Form by Nov. 15, 2022.

To be eligible to run, you must reside within the district holding the election and be a member of a chapter assigned to the district: District A represents Chapters 4, 9, and 20; District B represents Chapters 10, 31, 26 and 36; and District C represents Chapters 1, 3, 21, and 23.

Candidate consent forms can be submitted online via the CSR Election Portal at California State Retirees > Member Resources > Elections or you can mail the attached form to:

California State Retirees, 3000 Advantage Way, Suite 100, Sacramento, CA 95834.

Candidates may submit a 200-word statement regarding their qualifications. Candidate Consent Forms and 200-word statements must be received at HQ no later than Nov. 15, 2022

For contested District races, ballots will be mailed to the electorate on Dec. 1, 2022, with the deadline to return voted ballots to CSR HQ by Jan. 3, 2023. If only one eligible candidate has consented to serve in a District by the Nov. 15, 2022 deadline, the race will be uncontested and no election will be held.

District directors are elected by chapter members within their respective districts. If you need more information, please contact Corinne Celentano at 888.808.7197 or CCelentano@CalRetirees.org with any questions.
