CalPERS To Hold Active Shooter Safety Drill, Nov 7, 2019

Posted 4 years 178 days ago ago by Jamee Villa

Valued stakeholders,

On Thursday, November 7, 2019, CalPERS will hold an active shooter drill safety exercise with law enforcement partners in its Lincoln Plaza East building on Q and 5th streets, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Setup will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Local law enforcement agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, Sacramento Police and Fire departments, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will conduct the drill training. A number of law enforcement officers and vehicles will be in the immediate area, and some lanes of traffic may be blocked during the drill.

Due to the increased activity in the area and the Lincoln Plaza East building being unavailable to the public for most of the day, the Sacramento Regional Office will be temporarily relocated in Room 1140 of Lincoln Plaza North during the drill. We would appreciate your help in making sure your members are aware of this.

Although the drill itself will not be visible from the street, increased traffic could result, making this a less than an optimal day to visit CalPERS.

If you have any questions about the upcoming drill or need further clarification, please contact us at emergency_management@calpers.ca.gov.

We appreciate your assistance in getting the word out about this drill.

We believe it makes CalPERS and the neighborhood safer places for all of us.
